Caterham Cars and Swindon Powertrain collaborate to build electric Seven

Caterham reveal EV Seven collaboration with Swindon Powertrain.

Caterham have revealed plans to develop an electric Seven in collaboration with Swindon Powertrain. Swindon Powertrain will develop two EV technology development vehicles using the existing Caterham Seven architecture.

The vehicle will feature a bespoke version of the HPD-e family of e-Axles, fitted in the rear of the Seven Chassis. Swindon Powertrain will develop and manufacture a bespoke, immersively cooled battery pack to withstand the demands of track day use. The use of dielectric fluid to cool the cells is a cutting edge technology at the forefront of battery electric vehicle development.

The car will make its debut at the infamous Goodwood Festival of speed 2023.
