On race day at Silverstone Swindon Powertrain and Excelr8 Motorsport renew contract to continue developing the Hyundai racing engine competing in the British Touring Car Championship.
This new agreement means Swindon Powertrain and Excelr8 will extend their existing five year partnership for a further three years through to the end of the 2026 season. In 2021 the two companies entered into an agreement to develop the current Hyundai engine specifically for the championship. This new powertrain one its debut race in 2022, and went on to power Tom Ingram to win the Drivers Championship that same year.
Justina Williams (excelr8 Team Manager) said “We have worked extremely hard and well together, and provided a fantastic product which we are very quick on track with” “Therefore we want to continue to work together because we have achieved so much already”.
“It has really been a joint effort, there has been some great successes including the championship with Tom (Ingram) last year” said Raphael Caille “we want to help [Excelr8] get more of this” success.
We look forward to another 3 years of chasing championships and silverware.
